2025 Thailand PCB Industry Market Report

2025 Thailand PCB Industry Market Report

I. Market Size and Growth

In 2025, the Thailand PCB industry continues to expand amid the restructuring of the global electronics industry chain, becoming a key hub for electronics manufacturing in Southeast Asia. In 2023, its output value accounted for 3.8% of the global total, and it is expected to rise to 4.7% in 2025, reaching a scale of USD 6 billion to 8 billion. In the first half of the year, sales amounted to THB 18 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 6.7%. However, export volume increased by 6.6% year-on-year to THB 24.2 billion due to growing demand for multilayer boards in markets such as the United States, China, and India.

II. Industrial Layout and Production Capacity

Thailand has formed a comprehensive industrial cluster, attracting leading global companies to set up operations. As of 2025, there are 163 PCB factories in the country. Taiwan-based companies like Zhen Ding Technology and Unimicron, as well as mainland Chinese giants such as Kingboard Holdings and Victory Giant Technology, have established plants here. For example, Zhen Ding's new plant in Prachin Buri, Thailand focuses on high-end products, while Unimicron's Thai plant invests in rigid-flex PCBs for new energy vehicles. Jingwang Electronics' Thai plant is being built in two phases, with the first phase investing USD 20 million in automotive-grade PCBs.

III. Technological Upgrades and Market Drivers

The industry is shifting from cost advantages to technology-driven development, planning to increase the proportion of high-end products from 35% to 55%, with a focus on breakthroughs in substrate-like PCBs (SLP) and other areas. Demand for Mini LED backlight boards and 5G millimeter-wave antenna boards is surging, with Will High's Thai plant achieving leading yield rates in related products. Meanwhile, Thai manufacturers have obtained certifications, improving the yield rates of automotive-grade PCBs to meet high-end application requirements.

IV. Challenges and Responses

The industry faces a shortage of skilled technicians, with an expected talent gap of over 80,000 by 2027. To address this, the Thailand Electronics Circuit Center has collaborated with universities to cultivate talent, and exhibitions have set up special job fairs. Additionally, EU carbon tariffs are driving companies towards green transformation. Zhen Ding's Thai plant has achieved 85% green energy coverage, and Victory Giant Technology has increased its wastewater reuse rate to 85%. In the future, the Thailand PCB industry is expected to consolidate its core position in the Asian electronics manufacturing landscape.
